Police: 2 shot, injured in separate shooting incidents in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE — Milwaukee police are investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred Monday night, October 17th.

The first shooting occurred  around 8:30 p.m. on Winona Lane near Burnham Street.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the victim, a 23-year-old ma,n was the target of an armed robbery. During the robbery, the victim attempted to disarm the suspect at, which time he was shot.

The suspect(s) then fled on foot.

The victim was conveyed to a local hospital by a friend. He is expected to survive his injuries.

Police responded to a second shooting near 25th and Orchard.

According to police, a 51-year-old man confronted the suspect regarding an ongoing dispute. During the confrontation, the suspect shot the victim.

The victim was treated on the scene by the Milwaukee Fire Department and then taken to a local hospital where he was treated for what is believed to be a non-life threatening injury.

The suspect in the shooting was taken into custody on the scene.
