MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee police are investigating a shooting that occurred following a robbery on Thursday, July 17th.
Police say the shooting occurred just before 11:00 a.m.
According to police, the incident began when a 24-year-old Milwaukee man was robbed of money and property while seated in a vehicle in the 3500 block of N. 19th Street.
Police say the victim followed the suspect to a home in the 1900 block of W. Keefe, where he, along with family members, confronted the occupants of the home about the robbery from the porch.
That’s when police say a suspect appeared from the back of a home and fired rounds toward the porch — striking a 27-year-old Milwaukee man.
Police say the 24-year-old drove the 27-year-old to the hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
Police say they have arrested the suspect believed to be responsible for the shooting. They are seeking the suspect believed to be responsible for the robbery.
