MILWAUKEE – 20-year-old Ed Burgess was sentenced to five years in prison and five years of extended supervision for a double fatal shooting.
Burgess reached a plea deal for his role in the murders of Tyrone Brown and Davion Smith. Brown and Smith were shot and killed at a home near 40th and Glendale in Milwaukee on February 24th.
Burgess originally faced two charges of first-degree reckless homicide. However, charges were amended to homicide by negligent handling of a dangerous weapon.
After a material witness in the case did not show up to court for Burgess’ trial, one of the counts against Burgess was dismissed. Burgess then pleaded guilty to the second count.
