MILWAUKEE (WITI) — An 18-year-old Milwaukee man has been taken to the hospital after a police officer-involved shooting occurred near N 10th St. and Concordia Ave.
Shortly after 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 21st, the Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a call of a woman being stabbed by her boyfriend.
When emergency crews arrived, there was ongoing violence at the residence and the Milwaukee Police Department was called in for assistance.
Police arrived and identified several witnesses in the home, including an adult male who pointed a long gun at an officer. The officer fired, striking the suspect.
The suspect was taken to the hospital and is being treated.
No officers were hurt in this incident.
According the police, the officer involved is a 50-year-old man with 21 years of service as a Milwaukee police officer. As is protocol, that officer has been placed on an administrative duty pending the outcome of the investigation.
